Why I put actual prices on my website
Most pressure-washing companies hide prices behind "call for quote." Here's why I don't.
Look at ten pressure-washing websites in Middle Tennessee. Nine of them have zero pricing. "Call for a quote" or "contact us today!" everywhere.
I disagree with that approach.
Why they hide prices
- To qualify leads (they only want to talk to serious buyers)
- To adjust pricing per customer (bad for trust)
- To avoid competition based on price (also bad for you)
Why I show ranges
Homeowners deserve to know what they're getting into. A range gets 90% of the way to a real number, respects your time, and lets you decide whether to keep talking.
The estimator
The homepage estimator uses real formulas — cost per square foot, condition multipliers, add-on pricing. It gets within 15% of the final invoice for most residential jobs.
When my quote goes higher than the range
- Unusual access (hillside lot, no water spigot near work area)
- Extreme mildew requiring multiple passes
- Add-ons that weren't in the initial estimate
When it goes higher, I explain exactly why. Nobody is surprised at invoice time.
When it goes lower
Sometimes I underestimate mildew or overestimate square footage. The invoice reflects actual work — never higher than the quote, sometimes lower.
The honest deal
Transparent pricing isn't a marketing strategy for me. It's just how I'd want to be treated as a customer. Small business, honest prices.
